Meet the cast of South Hamilton High School's production of...
HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS
WITHOUT REALLY TRYING
RICKY REDMOND (J. Pierrepont Finch, Closing Night) is no stranger to the stage, having performed numerous leading roles here at SHHS throughout the years. He will continue to grow as an actor next year when he goes off to study in New York University’s prestigious musical theatre program. Ricky hopes to inspire all of you who are still stuck in this boring town when he’s on Broadway, someday. Favorite credits: Andy in Andy (the male-version of Annie), Effie in Dreamgirls and every single role in Newsies (the one-man version). These shows may have been in a self-constructed theatre in his basement, but his mother can assure you that all were Tony-worthy. “Haters, keep your jealous opinions to yourselves! Fans, follow me on Insta! @broadwaydiva”
JOSH KELLY (J. Pierrepont Finch, Opening Night) Favorite credits: Homecoming King, Junior Prom King and Baseball MVP three years in a row. “I’m not really sure how these bio things work because this is my first year in the school show, but here goes… I’m Josh, but you might know me around the hallways as The Chopper. I can’t believe I got the lead on my first try! I guess I’m a winner on the field and on the stage. Big thanks to Ricky Redmond for showing a rookie like me the ropes. Look out, bro! I’m coming for your spotlight! Haha! JK. I don’t need your spotlight. The whole school already knows who I am.”
JAVIER RIVERA (Bud Frump) can’t wait for all of you to see him in his scene-stealing supporting role. He's super excited to be acting alongside his BFF and SHHS Legend, Ricky Redmond. Javi has come a long way since he was a freshman in the chorus, and it’s all due to the encouragement he received from Ricky. He promises to one day repay Ricky for his kindness. HEATHER JAWORSKI (Miss Jones) is known for her adorably cheeky yet glamorous performances, but makes her final appearance on the SHHS stage as the frumpy, cranky Miss Jones. She isn’t sure what she did to warrant such a demeaning and disappointing role her senior year, but she’s not bitter. She will look at this as an opportunity to stretch herself as an actress. She would advise all the cute underclass girls who got better roles than her to enjoy their youth while it lasts.
MITCHELL PALMER (Mr. Matthews) hopes the world is prepared for the slayage he’s about to lay down onstage. After three years of living in the ensemble, Mitchell Palmer, future Grammy winner and current vocal masterclass, has five whole lines and a singing solo. He thanks only his constant inspiration, Mariah Carey. “Thank you, Queen. You give me all the life I need to rise above some of these shady kiddies.”
SALVATORE CHENG (Ensemble Man #1) has nothing but mad love for all his paisans in the ensemble! He’d like to publicly apologize to the girls he may have accidentally offended with his hands at rehearsals. That’s not the real him, he swears. If anyone’s looking for a prom date, hit him up at (609) 555-3029 or Snapchat him at AsianGuido69. This performance is dedicated to Antonio Contento, his great-great-grandfather from Napoli. “I’ve never met you, but you’ve shaped who I am today.”
ARI TIMMONS (Ensemble Man #2) has done the school play every year since he was a Freshman, but never had a solo. His mom keeps asking him why. He tries to explain that it’s because he sucks, but she doesn’t get it. “Ma, look out! I’m gonna try to sneak my way up to the front of all the songs! Thank you to Mrs. Aubry for helping me find my cell phone every time I lost it at rehearsal.”
LOUIS BAKER (Ensemble Man #3) is deeply grateful for the warmth he has shared with his thespian peers over the past four years. Like the four primordial elements of the earth working together in harmony, this process has been a true collaboration. Sir Louis thanks his friends, family, teachers and the prophet Zoroaster, whose teachings have encouraged him to delve into the heart and soul of his fellow man.
MIKE AVILES (Ensemble Man #4) (Bio not submitted.)
